Meet the Team

About Michelle Perks

Hey Sista! I’m Michelle, and I’m so glad you’re here!

As a pelvic health physiotherapist, I’ve spent over 20 years helping women overcome the challenges of bladder and bowel concerns, incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction, pregnancy aches and postnatal recovery.

I know pelvic health can be intimidating to talk about. I see PhysioSista as a safe space where women can share their story and take the first steps toward living life, like they want it to be. Nothing makes me happier than helping women achieve their personal best—whatever that looks like for you.

My mission is simple: to support you in feeling stronger, more confident, and in control of your health.

Whether you’re returning to exercise, recovering after surgery, or navigating menopause, I’m here to guide you with expert care, encouragement, and compassion.

When I’m not working, you can find me enjoying a beach walk with my black lab, Penny, exploring Australia’s beautiful coastline (though nothing beats the nostalgia of a childhood in Esperance!), and indulging in a good book, art or sewing my own clothes. I have dabbled in CrossFit and functional fitness, and yes, I’m always tuned into a podcast—usually about pelvic health because there’s always more to learn!

About Mel Mongeal

Hi, I’m Mel (Melissa).

I’m a physiotherapist with over 10 years’ experience helping people with back pain, hip pain and musculoskeletal injuries through physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Originally from France, I completed my physiotherapy degree in Germany in 2014 and have been living in Australia for the past 11 years.

Most of my career has been spent in private practice treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. I have a particular interest in the spine, hips and the relationship between the hip, core and pelvis. I’ve worked with the Australian Defence Force, gaining valuable experience managing injuries related to high physical loads and helping people build strength and resilience over time.

I’m currently completing a Master of Continence and Pelvic Health, expanding my skills in pelvic health physiotherapy so I can support women with pelvic floor concerns alongside musculoskeletal injuries.

My approach focuses on helping people understand their bodies and feel confident in their recovery. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts so patients feel informed, empowered and supported throughout their rehab.

Outside the clinic, I love surfing with my partner, gardening (I run a small plant nursery from home), reading fantasy novels and spending time in my garage pottery studio.

I’m calm and easy-going, but I approach my work with focus and critical thinking - always aiming to deliver high-quality, thoughtful, patient-centred care.!

About Krystal Kelly

Hey, I’m Krystal, a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with experience across both private practice and hospital settings in Australia and Canada. During my hospital work I rotated through orthopaedics, maternity, ICU, paediatrics and rehabilitation wards, which gave me a broad understanding of how the body adapts through injury, recovery and major life transitions.

I have a strong interest in women’s health and pelvic floor care and have completed APA Women’s Health training along with additional courses in pelvic floor assessment, birth trauma awareness and return-to-sport screening.

As a mum of three myself, I understand the physical and emotional changes that come with pregnancy and postpartum recovery. I’m passionate about helping women reconnect with their bodies and regain confidence in movement.

I enjoy working with women experiencing pregnancy-related pelvic or back pain, those recovering after birth and anyone wanting guidance returning to exercise safely. I love to incorporate Pilates-based rehabilitation into my treatment approach, helping women build strength progressively and sustainably.

My goal is to help you feel informed, supported and confident in your body again.
